As Dr. Jay often says, we must protect the power of free imagination from being overshadowed by these distractions. It’s hard to foster creativity or independent thought when our minds are bombarded with negative or inappropriate advertisements multiple times a day. Many parents worry about their children being exposed to such content, while adults themselves often feel fatigued by the relentless intrusion. At Flexyn, we see this as a direct threat to the freedom of imagination—a cornerstone of innovation and personal growth.

Jeanette Milagros Torruella, known as “Dr. Jay,” holds a Ph.D. in Counseling with a specialization in the social impacts of creativity. With over 20 years of experience as a school counselor in New York City, she brings deep expertise in exploring how creativity shapes and influences human development.
Through her groundbreaking research, Dr. Jay introduced the concept of “The Emancipation of the Imagination,” which she defines as the freedom to imagine without the constraints of societal pressures. She emphasizes that imagination is the foundation of creativity, and being “free to imagine” is essential for the healthy development of children.
Dr. Jay’s work has profoundly impacted individuals of all ages—children, adolescents, teens, and adults—helping them lead more mentally and spiritually fulfilling lives. Her teachings continue to inspire others to unlock their creative potential and embrace the transformative power of imagination.
